Mr Roger Walter Francis Taylor

27th February 2012
Mr Taylor was the managing director and shareholder of Sartor Resources Limited (“Sartor”), an insurance manager licensed under The Insurance Managers and Insurance Intermediaries (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2002, as amended.  Sartor’s licence was revoked by the Commission with effect from 9 July 2010.

Mr Taylor was convicted in November 2010 of 9 counts of money laundering and sentenced in January 2011 to 2 ½ years imprisonment.  In July 2011, the Commission applied to the Royal Court for an order disqualifying Mr Taylor from acting as a director of any Guernsey company.

The Commission’s application to the Royal Court was adjourned pending the outcome of Mr Taylor’s appeal against his criminal convictions.  On 7 February 2012, the Royal Court ordered that Mr Taylor be disqualified for 13 years.  The maximum period of disqualification is 15 years.
