Sanctions Notice - UK Sanctions List

8th January 2026

This is a further reminder that, as of the 28th of January 2026, OFSI’s Consolidated List of Asset Freeze Targets will no longer be updated. From this point onwards, the only reliable source for UK sanctions designations will be the UK Sanctions List (UKSL), published by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. This means that compliance systems that source data from the OFSI Consolidated List or rely on the ‘OFSI Group ID’ identifier will need to be updated to ensure that they are instead using data from the UKSL and the ‘Unique ID’ as an identifier for new DPs as opposed to the ‘OFSI Group ID’. Businesses who use a specialist screener or other third-party providers should speak to their supplier to understand the impact, if any, on data they receive.

The UK Sanctions List is published on GOV.UK and available in 7 formats. Alongside the original 4 UKSL file types (ODT, ODS, XML and HTML), an additional 3 formats are now published (TXT, CSV and PDF). The data provided in each format is identical but is displayed in different ways, depending on the format.

UK Sanctions List search tool is available on GOV.UK with filters that allow users to search for DPs specifically subject to an asset freeze. We understand that there will be functional upgrades to this search tool in mid to late January to make it easier to use and to display search results in a better, more useful way, including the introduction of fuzzy logic searching.

Sanctions notices from the Policy & Resources Committee will continue to be circulated in the same way.
