Sanctions Notice - Russian Federation

Council Decision 2014/512/CFSP (EU) No 1352/2014, as implemented in the Bailiwick by the Russian Federation (Restrictive Measures) (Guernsey) Ordinance 2014, the Russian Federation (Restrictive Measures) (Alderney) Ordinance 2014 and the Russian Federation (Restrictive Measures) (Sark) Ordinance 2014 has been amended by Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/1764.

The effect of the amendments, which are automatically effective in the Bailiwick, is to remove from the arms embargo and related prohibitions in the EU Decision restrictive measures that affect the European space industry.  Certain operations concerning specific pyrotechnics referred to in the Common Military List of the European Union, necessary for the use of launchers operated by launch service providers of Member States or established in a Member State, or for the use of launches of space programmes of the Union, its Member States or of the European Space Agency, or for the fuelling of satellites by satellites manufacturers established in a Member State, are now permitted.

MEASURES WHICH SHOULD BE TAKEN

All businesses must familiarise themselves with the legislation and check whether they have any kind of relationship that may relate to prohibited activity.  Any findings must be reported to the Policy Council immediately.  The information referred to above is required by the Policy Council in the exercise of its powers under the Schedule to each of the Ordinances listed above.
