Sanctions Notice - Russia - General licence

10th March 2022

Please be advised that the Policy & Resources Committee has issued the attached general licence under regulation 64 of the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, as applied in the Bailiwick by the Sanctions (Implementation of UK Regimes) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) (Brexit) Regulations, 2020.

The general licence replicates within the Bailiwick the effect of some general licences that have been issued in the UK to permit activity which would otherwise be in breach of the Russia sanctions regime.

The general licence is subject to the same terms, conditions and expiry dates as the UK general licences, as well as to some modifications to reflect the Bailiwick context.

MEASURES WHICH SHOULD BE TAKEN

Any business that intends to rely on the general licence should inform the Policy & Resources Committee in advance. This information referred to above is required by the Policy & Resources Committee in the exercise of its powers under section 15 of the Sanctions Law.

Any information or queries should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line “Russia Sanctions”.

Further information on the effect of asset freezes and related issues including licences is available on the States of Guernsey website at http://www.gov.gg/sanctions
