Feedback Paper following consultation on Equity Release

The Commission has today published its Feedback Paper following the consultation on equity release in December 2024, together with a red-lined copy of the final Lending, Credit and Finance Rules and Guidance. The Commission is grateful for the responses received. We have carefully considered the views expressed and have made a number of amendments to the LCF Rules as a result. In the red-lined copy of the LCF Rules and Guidance, the red text shows the changes consulted on, while the blue text shows the changes made in response to feedback received during the consultation.

New applications for equity release licences          
Licensing applications, to provide equity release products or advise on them, will be accepted from 1 January 2026, when the amendments to the Lending, Credit and Finance (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2022 are enacted and the new rules come into effect. We strongly encourage anyone interested in applying for a licence to contact the Commission at the earliest opportunity via [email protected].
