New Commissioner appointed

2nd November 2015
The Commission is delighted to announce that the States of Guernsey have appointed Mrs Wendy Dorey as a new Commissioner. The vacancy arose following the retirement of Mrs Susie Farnon, the Commission’s former Vice-Chairman.

Mrs Dorey is a Director of the investment consultancy firm Dorey Financial Modelling. She has over 15 years’ experience within the financial services industry including as Head of Retail Business Planning for M&G Asset Management Limited where she sat on the liquidity management boards for the Property and Leveraged Finance funds. During that period Mrs Dorey was responsible for risk reporting as well as for embedding new “Treating Customers Fairly” processes and for liaising with the former Financial Services Authority in connection with M&G’s compliance in that area.

Mrs Dorey was also responsible for the launch, and ongoing promotion to the UK retail market, of the Guernsey-domiciled M&G Property Fund. She also previously assisted the Investment Management Association in developing a new investment management syllabus for independent financial advisers.

Speaking about Mrs Dorey’s appointment, the Commission’s Chairman Drs Cees Schrauwers said “Mrs Dorey is an experienced professional in the financial services industry and my colleagues and I are looking forward to working with her. Mrs Dorey’s technical knowledge of funds will be most welcome and her experience in risk and in other important areas will ensure that she is able to make a valuable contribution to the overall governance and strategic direction of the Commission.”
