The Banking and Insurance Division (“BID” or “the Division”) is recruiting for roles at the Technical Specialist and Senior Analyst levels to join its supervisory and policy teams.

The Division is responsible for the prudential and conduct supervision of firms that are licensed in the Bailiwick of Guernsey (“the Bailiwick”) by the Commission as banks, insurers, insurance managers and insurance intermediaries, as well as businesses licensed to provide lending, credit and digital assets.

BID is a key part of the Bailiwick’s financial services regulatory authority. It offers the opportunity to gain experience across diverse sectors and it is one of the best places to continue a career in the Bailiwick’s financial services sector.

Highlights of the roles include:

  • Play an integral role in developing and maintaining the Commission’s relationships with its licensees.
  • Develop and shape policy across our sectors, including banking, insurance and digital assets.
  • Planning, drafting and issuing consultation and discussion papers, including communicating with licensees and other stakeholders as required and analysing and reporting on responses to consultations.
  • Reviewing, analysing and summarising consultation and discussion paper feedback.
  • Researching and monitoring international supervisory standards and advising thereon.
  • Assisting with the development of the supervisory policy framework consistent with international standards for banking and insurance, and appropriate to the jurisdiction.
  • Keep abreast of and analyse industry developments and emerging trends, and present findings to the sector as necessary.
