The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has historically sent letters by post notifying the regulated sector of Notices and Instructions to Financial Services Businesses and Prescribed Businesses in relation to the Business from Sensitive Sources and other matters relating to financial crime. In addition the Commission has also sent letters by post notifying the regulated sector of various presentations and seminars about financial crime matters hosted by the Commission and seeking confirmation of attendance by way of reply post.
In an effort to reduce the volume of physical correspondence sent, the Commission’s Financial Crime and Authorisations Division will cease to provide these Notices, Instructions and notices of presentations and seminars by post. Instead, the Commission will use its website to alert financial services businesses, non-regulated financial services businesses and prescribed businesses where it has issued such notices. Instructions will also be posted on the website, with notification also being sent by email only.
Regulated entities are encouraged to check the contact email address they have provided to the Commission to verify that they have given an accurate and up to date contact address. The Commission requests that financial services businesses, non-regulated financial services businesses and prescribed businesses regularly check the Commission’s website for updates and communications issued by the Commission’s Financial Crime & Authorisations Division.
The Commission will continue to place the Notices and Instructions to financial services businesses and prescribed businesses in relation to the Business from Sensitive Sources on its website.
This change will come into effect as of 1 November 2013.
