Data Protection Officer – Commission Secretariat Division

The Commission is looking to recruit a part-time Data Protection Officer working around 15 hours per week. Flexible working options are also available.

The main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a high level of awareness of the data protection risks associated with the Commission’s processing operations, and taking necessary steps to ensure that Commission remains in compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Reviewing all Data Subject Access Requests received by the Commission, working with the relevant supervisory division and the General Counsel Division in responding to them.
  • Leading the training and education of data protection and data management/retention and raising awareness of good practice and obligations. Assisting with the training of new staff joining the organisation, recognising the different styles and abilities of the team.
  • Assisting with presentations for Senior Management to support recommended changes, new initiatives, or enhancements, to the Commission’s data protection processes and data management as required.
