The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has announced that its third annual Industry Presentations will take place on 23 November 2012.

The guest speaker at the event will be Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham, Kt., ex-Director General of the Confederation of British Industry and former Minister for Trade and Investment, who is well placed to examine the issues that have an impact on the finance industry in Guernsey.

The Director General of the Commission, Nik van Leuven, said: "The new format of this year’s event met with a positive reception from industry. We are announcing next year’s date well in advance so that it can be put into diaries now."

This year’s presentations included a keynote speech from Angela Knight, Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association, and generated positive comments from industry attendees.

The Commission received more feedback about this event than it has in the past and this has led to a few changes in format for the event next year.

The main panel session will be longer to take full advantage of the excellent speakers that are available. The afternoon break-out sessions will take place at either St James Concert Hall or the Old Government House Hotel.
